Fertility testers

in Trying to Get Pregnant

So I've TTC since September, not long at all but I've grown extremely impatient.  I've tried the whole charting thing which I couldn't adapt to.  So I am about to start trying out some Fertility testers which I know nothing about.  Before I blow my budget on anything I'd like to know if any of you have any suggestions?

    You should save your money. Those tests really don't tell you much, and testing for IF should be left to a doctor. Doctors won't do those tests until you've been trying for atleast a year, so you've got a ways to go. It takes a year on average for a healthy couple to conceive. Good luck!

    Keep trying w/o a test I agree with Abc. If you are really concerned ask your dr. Or try OPKs.

    This, and you have only been trying for 2 months! Be patient. What are you going to do if it takes years?

    I knew you would all have the answer for me.  I don't want to waste money if I don't have to.   I'll just have to suck it up.  Thanks guys.

    Ovulation Predictor Kit. 

    You can get them at any drug store or off line. I buy mine at Costco. I found the have the best price. ClearBlue Easy OPK is what I use.

    Ovulation predictor kits. There are many different kinds in many different price ranges.I haven't used any yet but that is my next step if I am not PG this time around. I believe First response makes one kind. Basically right around when you ovulate you pee on the stick similar to a PG test and it will tell you if you are ovulating.

    I suggest bothering to lurk and read old posts for 30 seconds, but that's me.

    Ovulation prediciton kits. It's a common acronym. Learn it. Any of them will do.

    Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately I don't have as much time as many of you to 'lurk' around.  I have a question and I try the fastest way possible to get it answered, but thats just me.  Wink

    I've never understood how people can say they don't have time to lurk. You're TTC, but you don't even know what an OPK is? You obviously don't have time to read or find any other way to learn about your body, or the mos effective methods for conceiving. Why wouldn't you have time to learn about something that is important to you? How will you have time for a baby?

    In addition to what pps have said about OPKs I'd also say you should give temping another try.  It's an extremely valuable tool and takes a hell of a lot less adapting to than a baby will.

    This!  I tried charting 2x.  The first time I couldn't stick with it.  A few months later of still trying and no luck I suddenly found the ability to stick with it.  I learned a lot about my body from charting!

    why the hell would you capitalize all the main words?

    using an opk isnt really a big deal either.

    Thanks alot, I will try, however it seems that some of these people just look for anything to jump down somebody's throat about. 

    It's like they lurk for the one post they can bring their negative remarks to, I've seen it before. 

    Apparently I'm not a know it all so I have to ask what's on my mind. I geuss I forgot to read the rules on posting, lol.  Oh well.
