Babies on the Brain

I'm in so much pain (possible TMI)

So my left nipple started leaking this week.  And it hurts.  My right one caught up and started last night.  Well earlier today, I was adjusting my shirt and noticed that my nipple was stuck to the inside of my bra.  And when I pulled it away, some skin came off with it.

It.  Hurts.  So.  Bad.

I just took off my bra for the evening and had to relive the events of earlier.  Now I'm a tear factory and it feels like someone is trying to rip my nip off.

How do I make this better? Sad

  • This is going to sound gross-but dont use soap on them when you wash and apply lotion (no smell lotion) morning and night.  Mine have been leaking since 13 weeks.

  • Could be a mastitis. I had one back in June, and just this month, pregnancy caused it to flare up again. Antibiotics are the only thing that helps. You should see a doc.
  • Holy cow, you've been leaking that long, nlvaden?  Good grief!

Are your boobs supposed to hurt so bad with the leaking?  I'm a little scared of this infection...

This could be TMI but mine hurt really bad until I express a little out or take a hot shower.

  • If this is anything like breastfeeding is going to feel like, I don't know that I'm going to be able to do it!

I'm thinking of heating up the bed buddy to put on the ta tas.  And I'm probably going to get some nipple cream tomorrow.

  • Get Lansinoh cream.  It works wonders!  Also, don't worry that BFing will hurt like that always.  You will definitely feel discomfort for the first few weeks, but I promise you that it goes away.  I was in LOTS of pain for about 5 weeks and now it's like he's not even touching them.

This was my experience as well.  If you can push through the beginning phase you should be fine BFing.  Hope you find a cure to your current issue.  GL!

  • Yenno, sometimes I read this stuff and it makes me not want to get KU, but then again... I obv do.

    Good luck! :(
