My first is which type of thermometer should I buy? Would any digital one work or do I need to buy a special BBT one? Also yesterday I had extremely watery CM. That means I'm pretty fertile right and I should be ovulating as my ticker shows? I haven't started prenatal vitamins yet. I am going to buy some today which ones should I get or should I get an RX for them?

A digital thermometer would work fine, BBT give a more precise temp to the hundredths place - they are fairly inexpensive and can be found at walmart, target, etc.
Watery or EWCM are signs that indicate ovulation...I would get on fertility friend and start temping and tracking CM to pinpoint ovulation. the bump tickers are pretty useless as they just take your average cycle length into account
Over the counter PNV are just fine. I use target brand.
GL!
You can use a regular digital thermometer. However, you won't see any subtle changes in your temps. For example with a regular digital you might have a temp of 97.10, but on the BBT it could read 97.10, 97.11....97.15. Don't be surprised if you see the same temp several days in a row. You can try your regular thermometer for a cycle or two and get a BBT later if you aren't happy with the regular one. A BBT is about $10, so it's not a huge purchase if you need to get one.
Get rid of the bump ticker. It is meaningless. You will quickly find that your ovulation date can vary from cycle to cycle. You can go to fertilityfriend.com and set up and account. It's a great website that will help your track your cycle. You can link a ticker to your chart which will be accurate to your cycle.
Watery CM is fertile CM. It means that your body is getting ready to ovulate. However, know that ovulation is not guaranteed. CM and OPKs predict ovulation. You temp confirms it.
You should start PNV ASAP. You can get an OTC brand. Many girls here do. I use Naturemade.
I have the BBT from Walmart. I don't like it because there's no light and the last temp flashes just barely long enough for you to see it (1/2 the time I take my temp and go back to sleep, so this is an important feature for me). Yes, you need a BBT because the regular digital ones won't show subtle changes in temp...which is what you want...and you may have several flat temps. They only measure to the tenth instead of hundreth of a degree.
Watery CM generally means you're fertile, yes. But the bump tickers are very inaccurate. The only way to know for sure is to start charting and get to know your body.
I have a prescription for prenatals, but I won't get them filled. My sister used to own a GNC-type store and when she was KU took the PNV that she sold to the nutritionist at the OB, who told her those were WAY better than what they prescribed. My sis was very high risk, so I don't think they would've told her this without it being true. So, when I called my sis to compare hers to my prescription (I had samples) I found that the script came up woefully short. Basically the only thing in them was folic acid. So, I am ordering PhytoPharmica PNVs from the internet, since no one around me sells them. You can get them over the counter anywhere that sells PhytoPharmica, or they can order them for you. I'd just rather order them off the internet myself than deal with a local store that will have to order them anyway.

1. A digital is best, preferably one that calculates to .00 instead of .0, but that is not strictly necessary.
2. Watery CM is fertile and yes, you may be gearing up to ovulate, but those ovulation calendars are crap for most people. Very inaccurate. You're doing the right thing by beginning charting. You may also want to take OPKs for the next few days.
3. OTC ones are fine and much cheaper. I use Target brand and take an extra 400 mcg of folic acid.
Get a special BBT. They are more accurate (or so I've heard) and they have instructions in them that tell you how to use them for fertility purposes.
Only charting will tell you 100% when you are ovulating. Some women on this board have the most fertile type of CM (EWCM) for a week or so. The presence of fertile CM may mean that you are ovulating, but it also may not mean that.
I buy Target brand prenatals. They are cheaper than Px and are just as good.
I just use a regular thermom but am thinking of investing in a BBT from target that some ladies on here recommended. I can't take prenatal vitamins because they make me nauseous, but instead I take 2 flinstones and a folic acid, as well as an omega 3 pill each day.
