Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Holding his head up

FYI for those who are unaware.

Just because your LO has the strength to hold his head up does not mean he is now "holding his head up". He also needs to be able to control his muscles so his head does not come flopping down. Once he has both strength and control mastered he is "holding his head up". This does not happen in the first 3 months.

This...  And yes, it does happen in the first 3 months.  My DS will be 3 months on Wednesday and has been holding his head up "for realz" for 2 weeks

Well, at least that's more believable than the one who said her 1 month old was holding his head up.

I just have this vision of people putting their bobble-head babies in excersaucers.

I second this post! Every baby achieves milestones at different ages. My DS rolled over, tummy to back at 2 weeks...let me guess that's not possible either...wowza. I also agree that the tone of this post is very authoritarian.
