To those who are using a dresser w/changing pad

Hi ladies ... I have a question ... we decided to use a dresser w/a changing pad instead of purchasing a changing table ... I'm wondering if I need to buy like a sheet of glass to place over the dresser to keep it from getting damaged from lotion and other liquids, etc.

  • You need to buy a grip sheet, simular to the ones youd use in your kitchen drawers, etc to keep the pad from sliding and also protects the surface. Did you want to always take it off while not changing (the pad)?

  • Nope. I would suggest a sml basket to hold all the lotions though. And maybe place a light towel under the changing pad so the straps don't scratch the top. Otherwise-good decision on not wasting money on a changing table.

This.  We have a cute basket from Target that has separate compartments for all our diaper changing needs!

  • thanks ladies! I definitely didn't see the point of purchasing a changing table ... doesn't seem like anything I'd use for the long hall ... I just don't want the dresser to get damaged ... heck, this little lady is gonna have this furniture (if I can help it) until she goes off to college! I don't plan on removing the changing pad when not in use ... I'll just keep the pad there but I didn't want anything to mess up the wood ... thanks for your suggestions ... helpful ...
  • I use my changing pad this way and have a wicker basket on top of the dresser also to keep all her lotions and stuff in. No accidents or damage has been done to the dresser.

    THIS!

  • I put it directly on top of the dresser. 5 months later it is still perfect
