I've never had kids, never breastfed, never heard of such a thing, so forgive me if I'm ignorant. This just doesn't sound right to me. I hope I don't get flamed for being uneducated about breastfeeding, but the thought of this makes me uncomfortable.
holy f_ck no....that is Hand that Rocks the Cradle creepy.
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
Whoa! I have never heard of this and I think it's crazy!! Why would you want someone else breastfeeding your own child? And why would you want to breastfeed someone else's???
I would think the children would be uncomfortable bf'ing from anyone but their mother...but, I've never bf'ed, either. Maybe I'm wrong and uneducated, also.

My gut reaction is EW! But then when you think about it, there are milk banks all over the world, and women who can't breastfeed use the milk of total strangers for their babies. I think it's wonderful. But sisters who are both capable? just seems unnecessary and strange.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I would gladly breastfeed a needy baby, but beyond that... the PP who mentioned "Hand that Rocked the Cradle".. that's also what came to my mind.
And while this does smell of MUD, I don't think the OP is a MUD kind of poster, so... just wow.

Thank you, my friend! Seriously, this is MY family, so I WISH WISH WISH it were MUD. I don't know how I managed to get through the conversation with my aunt (it's her daughters & she told me about it PROUDLY) without making some sort of face or something that let on how horrified I was. I mean, in an emergency situation, I would not fault someone for this, but routinely? Ugh.

I think it's a little creepy. I can't imagine BFing my sister's child, or her BFing mine. It just doesn't sit right with me, and I can't necessarily pinpoint why, it just doesn't.

My sister and I talked about it this morning and we both agreed that we wouldn't be able to do it (unless it was a dire emergency). It is pretty creepy.

You're welcome. And Mchupie, I'm with you.. it can't quiiite pinpoint it.. my gut reaction is just, "no".
I haven't BF and my first reaction was "Oh, sort of like a wet nurse."
I wasn't horrified or grossed out. It makes me vaguely uncomfortable to think of doing it myself, but still no horror or instinctive barf reaction. I think I would have the horror or barf reaction if they were strangers or friends. Maybe. I dunno. I'll think back on this when I do BF though. Might be different then.

You're making this up.
Right??

First, this is NOT MUD! I wish it were. Second, thank you all for validating my reaction to this.
My head almost exploded when she told me this. Apparently, they do it when they are babysitting for each other. It totally creeps me out.
