DD is breastfed and we have been using bottles once or twice a day to get her used to them since she was 2 weeks old (she's 6 now). I go to work Monday and she will be staying w/ MIL. DD has always been WONDERFUL about switching between bottle and breast. We use avent, ventaire and drop-ins when we switch. Like I said, she has never acted like she preferred anything more than the other, even the breast. I was thrilled at how lucky we were. Just yesterday though she started freaking out when she got a bottle after she would take like 4 or 5 sucks. We tried all of our bottles and got the same result. The only thing I could figure after a lot of thought is that the flow might be to slow since she has had no issues before. So we got medium flow for the playex and number 2 for avent and that seemed to make her much, much happier.
Is it normal or has anyone else had a 6 week old that needed to move up already. Everyone (family) kept telling me she shouldnt need to switch up until at least 3 mos old... I'm just curious though - family is really proving to be STUPID sometimes so I thought I would ask here. I know it depends on each baby obviously - just wondering how common it is since they all acted like we were nuts for switching.
Bottom line is DD seems happy with the switch ![]()
