By me describing the symptoms. Initially my LO just spat up a lot but didn't have any distress... so we did nothing but kept an eye out for changes. Then he started to fight when he was feeding (wriggling, clawing, popping off and on the nipple), arching his back and crying after feeds, and then he started to act hungry, latch and suck for a few gulps, then rip himself off the boob screaming and refuse to eat anymore. Once he was started on zantac, all of that went away. I had forgotten how nice it could be to breast feed a happy baby who sucks and eats, then takes himself off the nipple all sleepy and full and content. Unfortunately, for the past day he is starting to fight again...might need a dose increase - luckily we have a doctor's appointment Monday in follow-up.
We had to do a barrium test, but that was due to concern for reflux and DS not gaining weight. ?DO NOT DO IT IF IT IS NOT COMPLETELY NEEDED... I had to hold my screaming baby on an exray table... very tramatic for me (DS was fine as soon as I picked him up)
