Tomorrow I start my new diet, my dr. recommended a diet that will regulate my blood sugar (it tends to be low) but I am also in need of losing weight so it reduces my carb intake (not too much) but I am hopeful it will work.
I am giving myself 3 months to lose 30lbs. so it all starts tomorrow. I have concerns about starting this over the holidays but I enjoyed Thanksgiving (my favorite foods) holiday so I know I will be able to 'be good' from now on!
I am calling it my 'baby diet' LOL! My gyn said if I have PCOS and still thats a big IF then it will help regulate my cycle ![]()
I can do this right?!
Re: And so it begins....
You CAN do it. The hard part is breaking the habit.
I was a TOTAL carb-o-holic, but almost two years ago I went on a raw vegan detox diet for 30 days and the idea of giving up breads and carbs seemed impossible--then after getting rid of the habit, I felt like CRAP when I actually ate any carbs, so I didn't want to eat them anymore.
But it's getting to that point which you've let go of them that's the hard part.
Thank you MSC! I have done something like this before and the first couple of days are hell but now its what I have to do! I want us to be able to have a baby and I want to be healthier!
So here I go! I cleaned out my cupboards and fridge today. Roasted a turkey for left overs and told DH if he wants bread/food not on my list he can eat it at work!
He is so good at getting me to given in! But NOT this time! I know I feel better!
Do you have a book or website on that vegan detox diet? I am vegetarian but want to go vegan. I am a carbaholic right now and have gained weight and feel like crap.
Absolutely, positively!!
Of course you can!! I think it is an excellent plan!
Btw, I have taken nutrition classes and love cooking healthy dishes... so if you are ever in need of any ideas, send me a pm! (Just keep in mind Im a vegetarian...)
Good luck!
Yeah, SBD is pretty awesome. I wish I could say DH and I were still on it, but we are planning to pick back up after the holidays. It regulated DH's blood sugar so well he went off his meds and hasn't needed them since!
