I've been using opks for four cycles now, and Ive had definitely positive opks every time I've O'd, and also cp/cm info that made sense.
2 cycles ago, I had high/soft cp, fertile CM, and I got NEARLY positive opks around cd14, but temps showed that I didn't O (until later).
This cycle I've decided not to temp (I'm taking a little break) and I haven't yet had high/soft cp,and I've only had fertile CM for 2 days (in the past I've had 5 or 6 days of it). But again, I've had NEARLY positive opks for 2 days...getting darker each time I test (I tested three times yesterday and once this morning).
I'm sure I'm just hoping to O earlier (rather than my usual cd32ish O time), and I'm sure these new opks are just more sensitive or something... But I'm still wondering, does this happen to anyone else?
Also, if you were me, would you continue to use the opks in case, or just wait until you had other signs that made sense? Would you start temping again for the rest of this cycle to be more sure about what's going on (I did this morning)?
Re: Long Cyclers, Nearly positive OPKs? (kind of long)
I usually get + OPKs around CD16-18, but in the last few cycles I haven't O'd until CD25-30. FF even gave me CH last month at CD18 and I didn't O until CD25.
If I were you, I would start temping now if you want to have an idea of where you are in your cycle. If you're trying to take a break from temping, I'd say just keep sexing it up every other day and keeping trying with the OPKs to see if you get another +.
Thanks for the input!
After another day of taking opks a few times a day, it seems like they are getting lighter. So either I missed the surge two days ago, or I was gearing up to O and then didnt...
In any case we have kept up our end of the work (
) just in case, and I've started taking my temps again to have a better idea of what's going on.
