  • We switched DD to this for the same reason and it seems to be helping.  She has far fewer spit up episodes.  The only problem that we have run into is that the formula is so much thicker than normal and we have to be sure to mix it really well or else powder will stop up the nipple.

  • My nephew is on this and so far has done well.

You have to mix it up and let it sit for 5 minutes though before you give it to baby - something about letting the rice thicken up.  My sister just makes a pitcher of it every morning and just pours bottles as she goes.

  • we tried it and it didnt seem to help us much, we are now trying the gentelese, but we bought the generic brand and now both boys are super constipated so we might try the name brand and see if that helps. i dont know what else to do.
  • We used the AR formula for many months.  It didn't stop the spitting up, but it did help some.  We found the best way to get it smooth enough to flow properly through the nipple was to make the bottles ahead of time and warm them to room temp in a tall glass of warm water.  The longer they sit, the smoother they get.

To help prevent constipation (there was some!) we put a dollop of dark Karo syrup in his first bottle of the day.  (That was at the pedi's recommendation- a mother of twins just a little older than DS.)  We never had trouble after we started that, and it wasn't enough for him to notice the difference between a Karo and non-Karo bottle.
