My husband and I have been together for 5 years and married for a year and a half--we are ready to start trying 
Im super excited.
Any advice for keeping our time together special while trying to conceive?

I hate the word trying. It makes it seem like a chore.
If you haven't been "trying" for a year or more then throw the themometer (if you're charting) out the door and just have fun. Read Taking Charge of Your Fertility for some great tips but take things lightly. Everyone is different, everyone responds differently.
Experiment while you still want to (if that keeps things interesting).
