Do you still feel bad/sad leaving your kids for the day/night?

I still feel this way and ds is 3. Tonight we all came over to my mom's for Thanksgiving dinner, napped, watched football, watched a movie, etc. DH and DS just left to go home and I'm staying. I'm shopping with my mom tomorrow morning, so it would just be easier to stay here overnight for me. I will see P tomorrow evening, but I still felt sad saying goodbye to him tonight. I think it's just as hard for me to leave him as it is for him to leave me :-)

  • Not really and I never really did. I think I'm the weird one though. I enjoy my time off and know I will get to see the boys soon, so I cherish it while I can. I only feel this way when either mh or my parents watch them though...which is always. But I've never had a problem leaving them. (In fact, when my parents keep the boys for a night, when mh and I walk out the door, we high five. Kind of jokingly...but kind of not...lol).

  • Sometimes. It just depends. Like yesterday I had to drop her off so I could go to work, then she spent the night with a friend b/c I had to go to work this morning. Times like that I feel bad.But if I get the off-chance to go out and do something fun I don't feel bad/sad at all.

No. I think I'm the weird one. At times I can't wait to get out of the house and do something on my own or with dh or anyone for that matter, but as soon as I'm saying goodbye to him, I get all sad (I mean not sobbing sad, but a little heart tug sad). Even dh will say while we are out sometimes, "I miss Preston, don't you". Maybe once we have two it will be different...lol.

  • Nope, weirder than you because I've never left dd at all except for work.  Oh, wait the time I had to stay in the ER, she left me because they kept me overnight.  DH took her home and I stayed at the hosptial.  I begged them to discharge me before dd woke up so I'd be there.

This is totally me too. My girls have so much fun at grandmas.  It's like a vacation for them too!
