Just found out my dad is sick. WWYD?

We are supposed to go to my parents' house for Thanksgiving dinner tonight but I just found out my dad is sick with a fever.  He will not be holding DD and he knows to cover his mouth when he sneezes and coughs.  Would you go?

    Honestly? I wouldn't go.

    I'm not hibernating or anything, but I wouldn't bring Jacob into a house with someone who has a fever.

    I know it sucks.

    When was the last time you were around him?  If it has been within the last week then you and LO were probably already exposed to his germs.  Most people are contagious about a week before exhibiting symptoms.

    Anyway, I personally would still go either way.  Just take precautions like having your dad not hold LO and then have anyone who does hold/touch LO to wash hands prior to doing so.

    I actually have not been around him at all.  I did just call the on-call pediatrician and am waiting for a call back.  I just don't know if I am being overly paranoid.  Thanks!

    I wouldn't go. My 7 week old is sick at the moment with the Flu. All because I took her into my office last thursday for a meeting I had to go to. The guy directly behind me was sick and I didn't know it until after the meeting was over. Sunday night she came down with a fever and it shot up to 102.4 on monday morning. He never even touched her just being around her and she caught it.

    No, I really wouldn't.  Not worth the risk IMO.

    I would not go. My DH got sick with a fever when DD was 4 weeks (she's 4 months now) and I took her and stayed with my parents. Not taking any chances when LO is that small.
