Prepare yourselves for Thanksgiving...

For all the first-time Mommy's out there...holiday can be so frustrating with LOs!  Over-stimulation all day long = over-tired children = 3 days to get back into a routine.  Sad

Next year, I may leave the boys at Grandma's over-night so she can get a little taste of the monsters that are created by her over-stimulating ways. Devil

    this is probably a stupid question but how can you tell if your LO is overstimulated?  DS is about 1 month old but I don't think we've dealt with this yet because other than gas he seems pretty content about 95% of the time.

    Usually they will look away, close their eyes, try to shut down.  At 1 month you still may be in the clear.  It's easier to over-stimulate a 2 or 3 month old (in my experience).

    We experienced this on Sunday. My brother invited us over for a "practice turkey" dinner. It was 4 adults, two dogs, a different house, different smells and 35 minutes each way in the car.

    It was then 3 hours of CONSTANT screaming when we got home. 

    Needless to say, I will be wearing him in his Moby the majority of the day and escaping to the bedroom upstairs for breaks from the 20 people that will be there Sad

    This is why we are having dinner at our house, my sis is doing all the cooking. That way I can escape w/ LO for a bit, and she will be in her own home...with her own stuff if she needs to nap, etc.

    This happened to me when we took our dd to grandma's a couple of weeks ago.  She was extra fussy when we got home and she had ridiculous bowel movements!

    Tomorrow, I'll be visiting the family for only 2 hours because of this.
