How often do you wear your baby?

I hold him all the time and wear him if he's fussy and I need to get things done, and always when we are out, but if he is content to sit in his bouncy seat and play with his toys I let him do that.  He is always in the same room with me but it is just easier to accomplish certain things when I'm not wearing him.  Should I be wearing him during his happy times too?

  • That's pretty much what I have done.  In my opinion they also need time to be by themselves and playing too.

  • We only wear DD when we are out and about, she is fussy or we need to accomplish something at home (dishes, cooking, vaccuuming, etc.) and she isn't napping or wanting independent play time.

  • Ditto, but I know I used/would wear him more when it's warm and we could go outside. It's been raining here for what seems like months and that has limited the amount of time outdoors, which is where I love wearing him.

  • Before I was told that I shouldn't wear her because of my back I wore her everyday.  Now she gets worn at least a few times a week.

  • When he was really little, like 2 and 3 months, I wore him pretty much every day.  Now, It's only when out and about, which is usually just one day a week.  Wow, we're homebodys.

  • I wear her while shopping or if we're out. I rarely wear her at home anymore because she loves to scoot around and play on her own. She is very independent.

  • I wear her for one nap a day at home (most days, anyway) and when we go out for short trips.  If we go to the mall for a long time or something, I use the stroller (I know, very un-AP of me) because she only tolerates being worn for so long before she gets ticked off.  And she doesn't like being worn when she's awake.  I'm sure that'll change once she gets older (she's six weeks now) and can look around more, but for now, that's how we roll.
  • On an average day I wear Declan for a few hours while we are out and about doing things and then for our daily walk.

I dont wear him in the house because when we are at home he loves to sit in his P&P and play with toys for a while, play in jonny jump up or jumparoo (yes we have two) or play in his high chair. He loves for me to sit and play with him but he doesnt want to be in my arms. He gets quite angry actually :) at 6 months he likes his independence when in the comfortable environment of home
