I'm really sad :(

My dog won't make it. This has been a long time coming. I've had him for over half my life. He is 14 and lived a long, happy life but it is still really hard. He is such an amazing guy and I love him SO much. The vet is doing a lot to keep him comfortable until my siblings and I can go say goodbye. He has cancer that has spread rapidly. He is not in pain because of the meds they gave him. Our whole family is devastated.

I know to some he's just a dog, but to me he means so so so much. It's really hard knowing that he'll be put down next week. I feel sick over it.

Here are two pictures. The first one is his shaved summer look. I will miss him very much.

I'm so sorry to hear about your furbaby. We had to let our cat go over a year ago and that was tough. I can't imagine going through that with our dog. We still have a good while but it's a scary thought.

Oh thats sooo hard, my dog passed a couple years ago (he was 16) and i had him since i was in 5th grade...i bawled for two days after we put him down. So sorry for you loss.

I'm so sorry. It is never easy to lose a pet. My childhood cat died the day my son was born. My parents found her when they got home from the hospital

aww that is so sad! I am so sorry. it is EXTREMLY hard I know, I have been through it a few times and i fear our beagel is getting bad. My thoughts are with you she/he looks so sweet!

is he a shelty? we have one too and we shave him in the summer. everyone thinks i'm crazy for doing it, but now i know someone else does too!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I have a sheltie too, she'll be 10 next week and is starting to really show the signs of old age.

It is a very real loss even if it is a dog.

I think I will need therapy when something happens to one of our doxies.

The only advice I have is knowing that he had a great life and thats something that alot of pets NEVER get, they don't even get one day of love. He is also in pain so the selfless thing to do is to let him go so he doesn't have to be on medication any longer.

He's not JUST A DOG...he's part of your family ---- he's your best friend as you can vent to him, cry to him, etc and he'll never betray you he'll just wag his tail and lick you!!! but I'm so sorry to hear that.....he'll be in dog heaven and be your guardian guard dog!!! Sad

Sorry about your dog. I get sad just thinking about the fact that my families first dog is getting older. We are going to be moving away for a year and a half next year and I hope that she stays healthy while we are gone.

I'm so sorry! I look at my two fur babies every day and try to prepare myself for that inevitable day. Your doggie will always be your "first baby" and I know you must have so many beautiful memories to cherish.. Hang in there and know your friends here are thinking of you. *Hugs*
