I had to be in a semi-private room for one night after my c section and it was awful. My roommate didn't have her baby "room-in" so I felt terrible when my baby cried repeatedly during the night and we had to keep tip-toing around so as not to add to the cacophony. The other patient also had about 15 visitors (all at the same time) during the evening and these visitors used our communal bathroom (gross!) and were loud and brought young children (which I thought was not allowed but no one said anything to them.) The private room was worth every penny!
