Trying to Get Pregnant

For those of you who have taken clomid...

So this is my first month on clomid (taken CD 3-7) and I haven't been monitored while on it (I realize now that is a bad thing and have an appt with an RE next friday so I can be when I try again next cycle)...

So anyway... I was all excited a few days ago when I started getting a brown discharge because I thought it was implantation bleeding but I'm still having it so I'm pretty sure I'm just getting AF (temps have dropped as well).  The thing is, if I am, this cycle was REALLY short... like 21 days short.  Has anyone experienced shorter cycles while on clomid?  My temps were a little crazy this month too so I'm not even sure I O'd.

  • I don't think you o'd yet.  If AF is on her way, it looks to be an anovulatory cycle.  I've never heard of clomid shortening a cycle, only lengthening.  Good luck!  And, good for you for taking chaarge of being monitored next cycle.  It can be kind of scary if you aren't.

  • Clomid can shorten a cycle if you O really late without it.  That being said, without monitoring I am not sure you Od either.

  • It shortened it for me last month from 42 days until 30 days, didnt O though, and this month I O'ed on cd 12 so it shortened it even more!
  • My first cycle of Clomid I had a 25 day cycle. My cycle days usually(off Clomid) go well through the 30's.

This is what happened to me. For the past two cycles I responded quickly to clomid, whereas I usually O around CD30. However, I believe it is more common for people to have lengthened cycles on clomid.

  • I am probably no help since without Clomid I typically have really long anovulatory cycles, but I agree with pp I dont think you ovulated yet.

  • Thanks guys,  without clomid my cycles weren't really cycles.  I'd go at least 6 months without a period so for the past year each period has been induced with provera.  I'm glad the clomid at least gave me AF but not if I didn't O:P

Oh well, we'll see what the appt with the RE brings.
