I went regularly to a chiro when I was PG for pubic symphisis and he told me to bring back in LO when he was born for an adjustment. Well I never went, but I was reading through the literature he gave me and it said that chiro adjustments may improve sleep patterns (among other things). Anyone take their LO for a specific issue? I'm thinking of scheduling an appointment (could use it for myself as well!).

Re: Anyone try chiropractor for LO
YES!
It helps that my dh works for one and we know her very well. She even came to the hospital to adjust Kate when she was only a day old. It helped with her reflux a TON. With ds it was horrible and took months to fix. With Kate we were able to watch for it and treat it proactively.
My chiro was with me in the delivery room. She adjusted ME before delivery, and LO directly afterwards.
Since then, LO has been to see her once. She had a really bad weekend of an upset belly, so I took her in. Doc put in her T5, and viola...no more belly trouble.
I've heard it works WONDERS for colic and reflux, and if DD has either, our first stop will be Doc. I hadn't heard that about sleep patterns, but it doesn't surprise me. DD sleeps better than any baby I have EVER met. I totally attribute it to chiropractic adjustments.
It's important to find someone you trust, and to make sure they've done infants. Holistic chiropractors would be my first choice, but where you've already found one and he seems to know that infant adjustment works, I'd trust him!
Seriously. I preach the chiropractic gospel. I honestly think I would have had a hip replacement or some other really invasive surgery at the ripe old age of 18 had it not been for my CP. Since then, I've had 2 serious back injuries that she fixed without me having to see a surgeon. I've cured kidney infections and ear infections without getting antibiotics. LOVE HER.
oh yeah, CP's are AWESOME with Ear Infections!
Sorry this is so long. I LOVE CHIROPRACTORS!
This exactly. It might've helped his reflux and colick, but not markedly so. And the poor kid has always been a lousy sleeper - no help there. I know it works wonders on some babies, though.

I'm personally not a fan of chiropractors, for many reasons, one of which is that my brother-in-law is a physiotherapist and has shown how chiropractor treatments are much harsher and medically slightly more dangerous because it's manual adjustment of the skeleton, but the muscles still don't know how to respond. My niece had skull issues from the birth process and so my sister took her to a physio who was a specialist in infant physio and it really helped, so I would personally recommend physio over chiro, but any treatment, as long as the practitioner is experienced with infants, would work I'm thinking.

Started our exploration into the world of international adoption June 2012. We have no idea what this is going to look like but we are excited to find out!
A pediatric ortho wanted to put Annie in a harness for her hips for a year. I took her to my chiro and now the ortho can't find anything wrong with her hips. He has also treated her when she had her ear infection and she was happier and less fussy immediately. Better than waiting on the antibiotics to finish their job. It is important to find one that has specialized training in babies. Two of the receptionists at his office were actually patients of his since they were born.
Annie goes every other week since she was 2 weeks old.
