Brick and mortar CD stores

Im beginning to think they do not exist, at least not around here. Id really love to be able to go to an actual store and look/feel/experience/shop for cloth diapers instead of buying blindly online. Thankfully, we have liked all we have purchased (except the gDiapers) but it really stinks that there is nothing like that around here Sad. If anyone knows of any in the Cleveland area, you let me know.

OH, and we only have 1 co-op and its in the heart of the ghetto...I dont feel safe going alone and its 45 minutes away. Not fair..

Just wanted to vent

Re: Brick and mortar CD stores

  • When I was pregnant and researching CD, I just assumed everybody had a "real" store. I'm lucky...Cotton Babies is about 15 minutes from my house.

  • We  don't have one around here either. DH & I have actually talked about opening an natural parenting store. I don't know how well it would go over in this area but I'd love to do it.

  • nope, not round here either. we *used* to have one, but the owner had to sell and the new out-of-state owners closed the brick/mortar store and just kept the website. grrr.

i have a friend who used to live in ithaca, and is always talking about how great it was living within blocks of jillian's drawers. sigh. not fair.

  • Little Padded Seats  opened their store this year near me, and it's gotten me in trouble! I can't step a foot in their door without spending a bunch of money. And they are on the same street as the farmer's market that I go to each week, so I HAVE to go there every time! But I love having a real store nearby, DS and I even starred in a commercial of theirs!
  • I live in coumbus, and we have a great natural family store called Sprout Soup. It's small and maybe not worth a trip by itself, but if you were doing other things too, it's a great store. I know they have a website and are on facebook, and maybe if you call they will be able to rec somwhere nearby.

I have heard about Sprout Soup, thanks for the advice!

  • I know I am lucky to live where I live.  We have quite a few and one is just a few miles from my house and the owners live just around the corner from me.

I wish there were more in your area.

  • There are a few around here that sell at least some CDs.  But I've found that most of the dipes I like are WAHM made or not carried by many stores so I've never actually bought a CD in person.
  • If you ever want to take a drive to Pittsburgh, we have a store here.  I think it just opened recently and you can visit in person by appointment.

We've also got a Whole Foods, a Trader Joe's, a great zoo, a children's museum and a science museum if you need more reasons to make the trek.  :-)
