I thought, "Oh I'll go to Hobby Lobby today, like all the gals suggested in my post yesterday! Yay, what fun!"
Then I remembered. Oh, wait. I want to get decorating stuff. Stuff that will be too big for my stroller basket/bag. I can't push the stroller and pull a cart (the stroller is TOO heavy to do that w/ just one hand), so I am going to have to wait. Anyone want to come watch the boys for an hour so I can run to HL?
waaaahhhh!! I wanted to go so bad!! I wanted to "get in the spirit" and have stuff so we could start decorating this weekend.
Re: oh. right. kinda forgot who I was for a minute there.
I was going to add a disclaimer: this in no way means I resent the boys. Please don't think that! This is just one of the things that is harder with two. That's all.
Nacl-I don't have anything with which to wear a boy. I thought about putting their car seats into the cart, but HL's carts are small.
Oh well. I'm thinking I'll call the neighbour and see if they're out of school and have their daughter come and watch the boys for a bit...we'll see!
Hmm... let's troubleshoot. Can they both fit sitting up with each boys' legs through one of the cart leg holes? Pad them with blankets as needed. Is there another store near your HL that has bigger carts? Steal that cart and take it into HL with you for more boy/shopping room. There's got to be a way to make it work! Shopping must be done!
I was going to suggest this. Or can you but one boy up front and one in the back of the cart? Not in their car seats?

Ah, this lovely dilemma...
This is how I grocery shopping. I push the stroller with my forearm and pull a cart behind me. Maneuvering is not easy, but it works. And most people are nice enough to get out of my way.
Can you grab two carts, put a boy in each, push one cart & pull the other? You have a jogging stroller, right? Is that easier to push so you can also pull a cart?
The HL here has pretty narrow aisles so the jogging stroller I have seems like it'd be more of a pain. I'm contemplating the idea of shoving them both into the legholes as nacl suggested. Or putting one up front and one in the back as kiarox (?) suggested. Hmm..
And tis true, shopping MUST BE DONE!
I'm all excited just thinking about it!
Feisty--I go grocery shopping when Jay is home, no way I would take the boys w/ me. You are a brave, brave woman. WOW!
Kim-you're a supermom, seriously. Don't know how you do it w/ 3 and not lose your mind. And you are totally welcome to come down and we'll all go have ice cream! Ice cream is good any time of the year.
Haha- love this.
I hope you make it! If you want to come North, I'll meet you at the HL on Lamar/183 and hold a baby or two this afternoon.
txbabs-we've tested how far the monitors go and uh, they go pretty far.
clynn-you're too funny, I can tell you're bored! but hell, if you wanna come on down, let's go to HL!
I called and checked to see when they would close tonight and they said they'd close at 9pm, normal hours. So I'll just bide my time and wait for Jay to get home and let him watch the boys while I go and get Christmas junk! YAY!!!
I think I'll introduce the boys to wrapping paper and Christmas gifts now! That oughta be fun..
