Geez I'm not sure what to do here. I started having contractions about 20 minutes ago. They're now 3 minutes apart but I can still walk, talk, etc through them. They're lasting about 40 -50 seconds. Not quite a minute.
My last labor lasted a total of 4 hours but contractions were much more painful.
Should I wait to go in until they've been this way for longer or should I risk being sent home and go to the hospital? Thoughts?
Re: contractions 3 min apart but not too painful - WTF?
Considering your last labor only lasted for four hours, I would go ahead and go in and risk being sent home. The second labor is ALWAYS supposed to go faster and easier which may explain the lack of pain.
Good luck!!
Give it the bath test. Taking a bath or two will help you distinguish between true or false labor. Also drink lots and lots of water and change what you are doing.
I had the EXACT same thing happen last weekend and I too had a 4 hour labor with Ethan. I noticed that although they were very consistent and rhythmic and definitely painful BUT they did not get progressively stronger and eventually went away. Since you are so close to your due date, they are probably the read deal. Definitely wait a bit longer but notify your DDs caregiver just in case you need to run off to the hospital in a moments notice.
