Do you do it by the # of hours LO sleeps straight or what? I am trying to figure out what is considered STTN. Right now Jake sleeps from about 9-930 to 1:15 when he wakes for his paci then again at 3:15 to eat. What does yours do
Personally I'll consider it to be when I'm not feeding in the middle of the night. Sleeping until 5am will do it for me! But I think the technical def is sleeping 5 hours straight. DD usually eats around 8pm, is asleep by 9pm and has been sleeping until 2/2:30am so technically I guess that's STTN but I really don't see how being up from 2-3am breastfeeding can be thought of as sleeping through the night!

Ditto. My LO eats around 10 pm, sleeps till 4 am, and then is up again at 9 am. So she' sleeps for 11 hrs, minus a feeding... and includes a 5 hr stretch of sleeping, but with waking up at 4 am... not my ideal STTN yet.
I consider STTN when we sleep from the time we go to bed until the time we wake up without interruption.
We usually go to bed around 10:00 or 10:30, Noah will wake at 3:00 to eat and then we sleep from 3:00 to 6:00 during the week. On the weekends, he'll usually wake for another feeding around 6:00 and then we'll sleep until about 8:00 or 9:00.
I DO get those occasional nights where he STTN (according to my definition)!

I think it is technically 6 hours, but DD goes to bed at 9pm and if she wakes at 3am for a feeding I do not consider it STTN. True STTN is when I put her to bed, go to bed myself and then wake up to my alarm and not the monitor.
At your LOs age DD was going from 9pm-4am, then back down until 6am. But as soon as she hit 3 mo she starting waking every 3 hours on the dot again and this last for 6 weeks. Damn wakeful...
Re: What do you consider STTN
Agreed. Around 5-6 hours straight.
My baby girl goes to sleep around 11pm and wakes between 3-4am and then we all get up by 7am (sometimes she is still sleeping).
I do not consider her to be STTN just yet.
