Babies: 3 - 6 Months

home schooling

who is home schooling
and why?

(i'm considering it.  not sure where to start, yet.  guess i have plenty of time to figure it out since LO is only 3 months. wish there was an instructional class that explains what to expect, how to approach it, methods, strategies, etc.).

Re: home schooling

  • I don't believe I could adequately recreate the benefits of traditional schooling, so I won't be, though I certainly do see that homeschooling has its own inherent benefits.

  • I'm planning on it!  Just with the experiance of having 2 younger brothers.  They had a hard time in school and one dropped out.  I feel that they get a better education when they are focused on school work and not the crap that goes around at school.  I just feel that its right for us.  I believe they have a good home school websites that tell you when to start introducing school to children!

    Oh boy

  • It all depends on where we live if we are in the area we are in now she will go to public school. if we are in an area that public schools aren't good she will go to private. Either way she will be in a school.
  • I was home-schooled through all grades and so were my other siblings.  I graduated a year early.  I'm not sure if we will home-school our children or have them in private school. The only thing it really hinges on is if I feel like I want to home-school or not (and do good at it).

There are all kinds of home-schooling "groups" and conventions. Hopefully you'll find what's best for you and your child(ren).

  • While I would not be able to do this because of work, I don't think I ever would.  I am a Literacy Specialist so I know I would be able to provide a quality education to my LO. Our public schools are excellent and we have heard great things from our neighbors about the elementary schools.  We pay enough for taxes in NY state, we might as well take advantage of what we are paying for!
