CP vs. ectopic?

Hi everyone, I'm sad to be here and I'm sorry for all your losses as well : (

I have a ?, and I hope I don't sound too ignorant- but I'm waiting on a call back from the Dr and am watching my friends babies so I can't go anywhere.

I think I'm experiencing a CP.....but I thought I'd bleed for days like with AF but I only bled heavily for 1 day.  I had VERY painful cramping yesterday and on Sunday night.  I had light brown spotting for about 4 days before hand.  My last HPT was + on Saturday.  I know ectopic can be really dangerous so I'm scared since I stopped bleeding. Can anyone advise me on symptoms of a CP vs. Ectopic?

    I am very sorry you are going through this. I think only your doc can really answer that question. If you are truly concerned about an EP, demand that they see you right away.

    I would call your doctor to make sure. In the mean time try not to get too worked up (easier said than done, I know).

    Ectopics can be accompanied with symptoms such as dizziness, sharp pains in the abdomen, shoulder or neck, and pain during intercourse or while urinating.  I've also heard that the pain usually starts out in one area and slowly spreads during the course of the pregnancy which I believe is a result of the embryo applying more pressure on the location.

    My CP was similar to a very heavy period.  I had some slight pregnancy symptoms before I m/c which went away and resulted in bleeding and clotting over a 7 day period.

    If you still feel uncertain or are experiencing any of those symptoms, definitely give your doctor a call.
