I have a friend who is a helicopter parent. Her poor kids can't do anything for themselves. She even called her daughter's employer once to complain that she'd been disciplined for calling out too many times and that just wasn't fair. And this girl was 18!
This was my favorite line: "A Texas school required parents wanting to help with the second-grade holiday party to have a background check first."
Very interesting article. A lot of that stuff is really crazy, especially the statistics about "stranger danger" and the idea of employers having parent packs. (!) I do have to admit, though, that I already think about what classes I can put DD in when she hits 3 or 4.
