dresser/bureau vs. changing table

i'm thinking of getting a dresser that is a good height to just put a changing pad on top of and then not getting a changing table. anyone else do that? what dresser did you get and where did you find it?

Re: dresser/bureau vs. changing table

  • We are planning on doing that as well, but haven't found a dresser yet.

  • we are doing this...we have an old dresser from when my mom was a kid....it's the perfect height!
  • We did this too. Our nursery isn't big enough for a dresser and changing table. We got the Munire Urban dresser in espresso to match the crib.
  • We got a dresser and put a changing pad on top. We got the Ikea Hermes 8 drawer dresser in white. It was really reasonable and we don't have room for a dresser and changing table.

  • We did that. I just didn't see the point in spending money (and taking up space) getting a separate changing table. We have the Bonavita Hudson Lifestyle collection.

  • That's what we're doing. It seems more practical to us. We're ordering from JCP, but haven't settled on which one yet.

  • We have a store called Whites in WNY and it sells a line of dressers/changing table combos. It is one way a changing table with drawers below and then when you are done with that you can flip it over and put the drawers in the other way and it is a dresser. (the changing table part becomes the decorative molding on the bottom.) Thought it was ingenious.
  • We are doing that. My mom gave me a dresser she didn't want anymore and we bought the changing pad. The dresser isn't anything fancy but the little one can have it forever so I'm happy about that. I don't think that it's that big a deal. I don't envision myself going upstairs to change the baby much after I get him/her up in the morning other than to put him/her to bed again at night.
