I am debating whether to go out or not. There isn't really one big item I am looking for this year. So I'm trying to decide if it is worth it to go out or just shop online. So.....what is on your list and where are you going to get it?
Question about Black Friday. Are most of the deals that retailers have both online and in-store? Or just in-store? We want to get a video camera, but there is no way I am standing in front of Best Buy at 4am waiting to get in!

I am like you and still mulling over whether it is worth it or not. We go each year to buy big ticket electronics, but this year we really don't want to buy any. However I do need an external hard drive and I think Wal-Mart has one on sale. They also have the card table/chair sets for pretty cheap and we really need to buy some, so that we don't have to borrow ILs each time we want to use them for a party. So we might go and pick them up. In and out quickly and then on to work that day (yes we work that day and still go each year... lol)!

Some will be online too, however they usually do not advertise which ones ahead of time... and the sites will be so very very slow that day. A few suggestions that might help you... retailmenot.com for coupon codes, froogle.com (powered by google, but will show you the best prices out there), and try a site like ebates.com (if you want a referral I can send it to you) for kick backs on your online purchases - usually 1 to 3% sometimes higher without having to fill anything out to get the rebate. Good luck.

No shopping for me! I volunteered to work my PRN job that morning for some extra Christmas cash since DH is off work. It'll be some good male bonding time for DH and DS! I used to work at Lazarus in college and I always got stuck opening bright and early Black Friday. I don't think I could ever face that madness as a shopper!
Toys R Us here I come! Not really for anything in particular LOL! I LOVE Black Friday yshopping! I already got a good deal on our 2 big purchases and not willing to stand in the cold for hours to try to save $30 and $2!
Our kids are 19mths apart and we LOVE it!!

I am not on the hunt for any big item. I just like the sales that go on for regular stuff that I need to buy. For example, I need a lot of gifts at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. Every year, they do a 30% off before noon. This is ten times better than the 20% off coupons in the mail. I can score some Christmas presents and save a little extra. I also pick up some wedding presents for some poeple for next year.
I like the early bird specials. You can typically get a sweater at Macy's for $20 before noon and then it goes up to $40. Deals like that.
My mom and I just go and shop. We have fun and make an entire day out of it. We typically leave at 6am and don't come home until 8pm or so. It's a long day, but both of us are done with shopping for everyone on our lists.

Actually, it's only 1.5x better. Bwahahaha, the math geek in me couldn't help it.
I've never been out for black friday. I think I'd like to do it one year just to see what it's all about. Then again, I'm not a big fan of people, so it's probably better that I stay home.

You know what I mean Every little bit helps when you are shopping for a ton of people.
Is it just me or are the BF deals really not that good? I mean, I know they're better than usual, but they'd have to be giving it away in order for me to stand in line or go out super early. I'll take part in some of the regular BF deals, if I'm up for shopping, but I'm not getting in line or anything.
Ava Caroline 8.27.07 I Charlotte Grace 5.18.09 I Lila Katherine 1.20.11
and some other stuff. I haven't written out my list for DH yet! He got up at 2am when I started to fall asleep and he went and stood in line at wal-mart and got our Xbox360 last year. It was my job to get up and look online at the stores but he had much better luck than I did.
I will be in line for a washer and dryer at 4am. Not exactly how I want to spend my morning, but ours is dying and we desperately need a new one. I'm hoping to score a nice set for a good price. There are a few sets on sale at Sears.
