Does your child play with their Duplo blocks?

DS does not play with his Mega Blocks, he only has the very little kid ones.  He never asks for anything when we go shopping, he will ask to keep looking at something or want to play with it at the store but never asks me to buy it but the other day he asked to take home a Duplo farm block set and I told him he could ask for it from Santa but I know he will not remember.  That said, I am trying to decide if I should get it for him, his Mega blocks are more for just putting together where this set is like bigger lego blocks with a purpose to build something specific.  WWYD?  It will cost about $35 or $40.

    At that age Carter was playing with the regular legos.

    Yes, ds has played with them daily for the past several years. He's now getting into the regular (tiny!) Legos, but still plays with the Duplos too.

    DS has just now really started to get into playing with them and will get more for christmas. I am going to avoid regular lego's for as long as possible with DS #2 being an infant and I would rather keep them away from him when he starts playing.

    Yeah, I know Carter is a big Lego fan (I remember from other posts) but I am scared to have them in the house b/c DD puts everything in her mouth.  And DS shows no interest in the regular Legos when shopping, we were looking for a toy for his friend that is turning 7 and he kept saying no to the Legos and Knex and just wanted to look at the Duplo...hard to explain to an almost 3yo that his friend is too old for those, lol.

    Yes, but not with mega blocks-- I'd get it, but then I really like playing with blocks :)

    DS likes to match the Duplo train sets to the exact picture. I actually marked the special Duplo sets and keep them separate in a bag so he can build the sets just so.

    he just started using his Lego table more often (Mega and Duplo)
