Need to buy a GOOD vaccum-any tips?

Also would like to get one during the crazy sales that go on in the upcoming month. Please suggest your GOOD vaccum cleaner for carpets. Particularly interested in bagless and am debating among Dyson, Bissell or any other comparable vaccums.

We have a dirt devil from hoover, eureka vaccum cleaner and another small vaccum. And none of these do a good job anymore.

Kirby - it's not bagless, but AMAZING! We had a Bissell pet hair one before and it was horrible.

This exactly! My DH loves the dyson and he uses it everyday. Get the one with the ball though. Gets to more spaces.

I say Dyson, too! Look around for good prices and have BBB price match, then use a 20% off coupon, worked for us and saved a lot of $$. Totally worth it!

This. We have a border collie-lab mix and he sheds like crazy, and the Dyson is the only vacuum we've ever had that picks up all of his fur and didn't crap out the 2nd time we used it. Definitely worth the money, IMO.
