PSA: Rethink drop down sides for cribs

After the major recall off stork craft cribs with drop down sides. My local news ran a report saying that a lot of retailers along with others are trying to get a permanent ban on all drop side cribs stating that this has not been the first major recall for them and they do not think it will be the last. Plain and simple, they feel the drop down crib is too dangerous to be sold.

Re: PSA: Rethink drop down sides for cribs

  • I live in the DC area and the same discussion was mentioned on ours new channels as well.

  • Loading the player...
  • There was a rep from the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) on the Today show this am who said the same thing. If you have one, just get rid of it, don't even bother trying to fix it, and that they are considering a ban on all drop side cribs.

  • There was an article today on one of the major sites (msnbc, maybe) that said BRU began phasing out drop-side cribs earlier this year, and by year's end they will not carry ANY drop-sides. It seems it's a foregone conclusion that the manufacturers have already begun abandoning that option.

Glad we never even considered one!
