I registered for all 3. (bouncer,swing,exersaucer).... if I don't get them at the shower, I will decide from there, but I'm pretty sure that I do want an exersaucer, I have had several friends that have raved about how their baby loves it, and there are several ones that grow several stages with them.
I am not getting one. I have heard great reviews about them, but have also read about how they can slow the motor development of crawling and walking...also followed up by that the children do catch up. I am going to try to be a "playpen" parent. I feel that a playpen environment encourages the child to stand, pull themselves up, and toddle back and forth. But who knows, I may change my mind.
We have the swing and the bouncer. That is what we are starting with. My boyfriend wants a jumperoo and we will probably end up with one but it's not something we had to have before she got here.
I registered for one and got it at my shower along with the swing, bouncie seat and jolly jumper ... The exersaucer that I ended up receiving is a multi stage one and I can't wait to use it!
We had both an excersaucer and jumperoo with our son. He loved the jumperoo but didn't really care for the excersaucer. We still have the jumperoo and that's all we'll use when the baby gets older.
I have all 3. But then again I shopped resale so I spent a total of $50 on all 3 items so I could afford to get them all. I have the Papasan vibrating bouncer made for smaller babies, I have the FP Ocean Wonders bouncer made for when they can steady their heads and body to be able to sit in it (they out grow this quickly too), I've got the swing for when they are a little bit smaller and the exersaucer is for when they can hold their heads up no problem and bounce around (my boys LOVED their exersaucers). I use the exersaucer for when I have to take a shower and LO is awake. I pull it into the bathroom with me and it keeps them pre occupied and happy while Mommy gets her shower. It's also great when I am cooking dinner or getting some cleaning done around the house.

Only if you leave them in it all day long. My older two boys never had delays in crawling or walking because of the exersaucer. (My oldest had delays in walking but it was because of his ears, not the exersaucer. And my youngest was walking at 10 months.)
Everything in moderation. You don't leave your baby in a pack and play all day either or in a swing or a bouncer. A little bit of everything is alight.
DD loved her exersaucer! We started using it when she was about 4 months old.?
Hopefully this baby will love it too. As for any delays, my DD did not have any. She started taking multiple steps on her own on her 1st birthday and she started scooting across the floor when she was 4 months and was crawling on all fours by 6 months. ?
