I just got my first AF today since my ectopic pregnancy surgery on Oct. 19th. I figured with the loss of a tube and still healing from surgery that AF would have been very painful and heavy but its oddly light. Started this morning with some light red and is now mostly brown. It actually reminds me alot of the spotting/period like flow I experienced when I was pregnant before I found out it was ectopic which is a crappy reminder. My question is has anyone else experienced a lighter then normal period after there miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy? I just expected it to be so much worse then it is. I also want to start charting this month and I'm assuming this would be CD 1?

Re: AF after Ectopic Pregnancy

when i got my first AF after my ectopic, it started on a monday, very light like you are describing and turned brown-ish. but then on friday, it started as a regular AF. i thought i had gotten off lucky and went back to my "lighter days" but nope. hopefully it stays that way for you!
OH, and crystal, i've been counting down the weeks and it sounds so much shorter now, we only have 5 1/2 weeks til we can ttc again! sounds so much better than the 3 MONTHS the doctor said! hope you are doing well!

Hey hun I didn't get lucky! AF showed her ugly head full force today! The cramps aren't to bad but its definitely back to a normal period which in a weird way is very comforting because its pretty much right on time! One more AF to go and then we will be able to TTC. 5 1/2 weeks doesnt sound nearly as bad as 3 months! Im actually using TTC to help me look forward to the holidays this year because shortly after Christmas we can start trying again! Hope your doing well! We will help each other through these next few weeks
