DD has one teacher - and has for the whole year. I will be giving her $100. I figured it is the least that I can do for the woman who spends 40+ hours a week with my daughter.
I am just giving them one large gift basket with candy & chocolate in it. There are 13 teachers that ALL help with my girls and I don't feel right leaving some of them out.
I put $25-49 but I'm not giving cash. That's what I'm spending on gifts. DS has 5 teachers and I'm doing a basket for each with hot chocolate, marshmellows, a coffee cup, chick-fil-a calendar and my homemade m&m candy bars.
DS is in a small in-home dc which we *love.* We are giving the owners $200 for Christmas which is basically one week's pay. They are fantastic and treat him so well it's the least we can do.
I really wish it could be more--my kids' daycare teachers deserve it. But with DH just having been laid off, we can't afford much. We're cutting out a lot of the extra gifts we give this year due to this. I hate it.
We'll probably do something around $100 for the main teacher, and gift cards--either Starbucks or movie tickets--for the younger girls who help out in the afternoon (they're mostly students, as our daycare is by a college campus).
We'll also get some token gifts for our main teachers tween kids--they're frequently there after school, and DS dotes on them.
We'll have a nanny for #2, so in that case we'll give cash, but for now there are 2 main teachers and two assistants. I give small gift baskets/gift cards.

We are going to give $25 per month she's been in daycare (in-home daycare) so this year that means $50. Next year $300. If I have the extra money, I'll either make some cookies and put together a nice basket or something like that. We are super lucky to have found our daycare provider and I want to make sure she understands how much she means to me!
DD has only been in her new daycare for a week so I think we'll go with a big basket of goodies from Corner Bakery for all the ladies to enjoy. Last year we did gift cards for the main teacher and assistant at her old daycare.
Whatever we pay $760 a month for daycare. As if we can afford to buy all of the caregivers a gift, lol. Actually, I might get them a big gift basket full of goodies but I haven't run that one by dh yet.
