We're using the same practice I went to growing up (they have new, younger doctors on staff in addition to some of the ones who were there when I was younger). We didn't interview but we did go to an info session they do once a month.
My OB told me that he and his wife, as doctors, are extremely picky about who they take their kids to, and that this pedi in particular was his favorite. That was enough for me. We're not even meeting him until he comes to the hospital to assess the LO. I figure if we hate him, we can always switch.

I did sit and meet with the pedi, but I think I would have picked him either way. I had several wonderful recommendations for him plus he had a great website that really answered all of my questions before I even walked in the office. If you feel comfortable with someone I say go for it. You can always switch if things change.

I didnt, it slipped my mind while PG with DD. at the hospital they "assigned" me one, and I wound up loving the practice and the Dr. I got lucky I guess. Her original dr has since left the practice and we got to pick our newer dr in the same practice.

We didn't- we know what group we wanted to go with and then it just so happened the pedi on call when my DS was born was awesome!! In fact, our friends (who did interview) ended up switching to her.
But that's how we roll: we didn't have a name picked out until after birth for DS, we didn't have my hospital bag packed- no way were we organized enough to interview. At least we had the crib up-
I have it narrowed down based on recommendations, but I can't actually interview them because they won't see me until flu season has passed. I'm supposed to call in Dec/Jan to schedule something in Feb. On my hospital tour the nurses highly recommended interviewing your pedi first.

I didn't. We go to a group that has about 10 pediatricians. We just went with whoever was available until I found one that I really liked. Now, we book all of our appointments with her.
Re: Did anyone NOT interview their pediatrician prior to chosing one?
