A friend of mine (yes, this is really for a friend) is considering trying infertility treatments again due to some issues with their international adoption process (long story).
Her employer's medical insurance will be covering infertility services beginning January 1 but they have to choose from 3 physicians that are covered by this policy (Heard, Gibbons or Kovanci). Her issues have been specifically with premature ovarian failure (she's 40 now and they did 3-4 cyles of IVF 2-3 years ago) so if they can't use her own eggs, they may need to look into an egg donor.
If anyone has any information about these 3 docs that I could pass along to her, I'd really appreciate it! TIA!
Re: Dr Heard, Dr. Gibbons or Dr. Kovanci
I don't know the 2nd two; I saw Dr. Heard. I wasn't actually seeing him when I got pregnant but I do think he was indirectly responsible for this baby. (My issues were thyroid related which he diagnosed and fixed immediately).
Premature ovarian failure is really his "thing" too. His practice is smaller than a lot of others but very busy. And in my experience, he does the majority of ultrasounds and procedures himself. I don't think I ever had an appt where I didn't see him (i.e only saw the nurse) and he actually postponed a surgery to do my HSG himself.
Good luck to your friend.
