So I went into work this morning (I'm a nanny and I just started working with a new family since I just moved) and the mother of the kids I watch said she had noticed that I've seemed upset lately and wanted to know if I was okay. I had not even told her I was pg (I didn't really want to tell anyone until I hit my 2nd trimester), so I hadn't told her about my m/c. I decided it might help to talk to someone, so I told her what had happened.
Her response:
"Oh, well it was probably for the best, you're too young anyway."
Are you serious???? I lost my child, not my favorite DVD! Yes, I'm 19, and it was unplanned, but how does that change my ability to raise a child? I am responsible, I am in a great relationship with a wonderful and supportive guy, and I have a full-time job where I take care of her children all day! Not to mention the fact that this was coming from the mother of the most poorly behaved children I have ever met, and I've been working with kids for years. I am not the first 19-year-old to get pg, and I certainly won't be the last.
She then went on to tell me about how being pg and unmarried wouldn't make me the best role model. So rude.

PAL/PGAL Welcome
I agree with this.
And to the person who 1-starred this post. Go to hell.
Wow, how frickin' awful! You are grieving a loss and she should have shown a little sensitivity. Her reasoning just sucks too. I mean, in her mind you're too young, but it's okay for you to be a nanny to her kids?!?
And her kids aren't well-behaved, wonder where they got that from?
I'm sorry you're having to deal with this. Hope your day gets better.
