I had posted a week or two ago about wanting a piece of jewelry to remember my babies.
I looked at various websites and suggestions and still might buy something online.
However, I was impatient and wanted something NOW to help with the hurt and loss.
I went to Michaels and Joanns yesterday and decided to make a bracelet. I have never made jewelry before so I was not comfortable stringing and beading a whole bracelet. So I kind of cheated and made a 7" sterling silver (SS) charm bracelet and bought most of the charms that just needed to be attached to the bracelet. It was pretty easy and I was able to complete it in an about an hour once I got home with the materials.
I have had 2 m/c so it has 2 SS Angel charms, 2 SS filigree cross charms, and a SS flower charm with a stone in the center. The SS bracelet was already made and I purchased it in a box so I didn't have to fuss with that and that saved a huge amount of time.
I made a charm dangle for each baby using 3 Swarvoski crystals (per charm) to represent conception date, loss date, and EDD. Each crystal on the dangle was separated by a spacer bead and topped with a Rondelle. I also had to buy open jump rings and 2" Head pins with a heart on the end to make the dangles and attach them and the charms to the bracelet.
Its very simple and pretty and has a lot of meaning to me. It just what I wanted.
Total cost for materials including sales tax was $23.75. I thought that was reasonable for pure sterling silver and Swarvoski crystals. Everything was 40-50% off at the 2 stores.
I also spent $7.41 for 5 jewelry making tools, which can be resused if I decide to make something else.
I don't know what an hour of labor making the bracelet and an hour and half shopping time would cost.
Just thought I would post in case someone else was thinking of making something to remember their baby(ies). You can do it!

Aww, that sounds so beautiful! DH and I are in the process of makiing a remembrance baby box for for our son, Joel Mathew. We bought a wooden box that has baby alphabet letters engraved around the sides. Then I bought a wooden baby blue elephant and a wooden baby blue dinosaur to affix to the top, along with some lettering to write his names and baby angel wording to decorate it with. That way we can put things in there, like u/s photos, favorite books we were reading while prego, dr. appt checkup cards, a few favorite maternity tops i always wore and a few other sentimental things. My son even is putting in a baby stuffed animal for him. So i know what you mean, that is why we are doing the box for our son.
Hope to see some pics of your braclet.
