The cradle hold. We never had any issues but some moms have a hard time with it. The key is to make sure that you start with it right underneath your breasts and make it pretty snug so that he's on top of your chest.
You could probably do the hug hold as well, but I always felt like I was smothering her in my boobs when I did that. She does fine with it now but it wasnt my favorite in the beginning unless we were just sitting around and I could keep an eye on her. Keep in mind that tiny babies arent meant to be upright for a long period of time, though. How can you tell if they are upright too often? Their soft spot will become sunken in.
GL! We love(d) Moby. I still love it, she preferring the sling now.
Oops, you'll want this hug hold, not the other one just yet.
I didn't love the cradle hold only because I was nervous about ds' airway being blocked with the way his head seemed to be tilted. I'm sure it was fine but I was just nervous about it. I found the nb hug hold to be my fav when ds was smaller. Now, he likes his legs out so we go for the regular hug hold.

We always did the hug hold - even in something like a ring sling. Some babies hate the cradle hold. I also found the cradle hold hard to get right.
Really, whichever works best for you and your baby - try both!
