North Carolina Babies

So tell me about your bibs.

I know this seems stupid, but where did you buy your bibs, and what kind do you use?

I'm SO sick of stains in everything - and without the sun recently, I can't even throw them outside to de-stain.

I have regular sized ones, but think I need jumbo bibs (to protect her clothing better), and preferably some sort of plastic that won't stain as easily.  DD isn't even a 'messy' eater, but we do get dribbles and spit up.

Re: So tell me about your bibs.

  • weve got plastic ones that are pretty long and cover him when he's not takin it off!! now that he feeds himself if we r at home and its a messy meal he eats in his diaper or a stained onesie so i dont have to deal with stained clothes

  • These JJ Cole Bibs are my favorite! They have a snap so he can't pull them off, and the plastic is very thick. I usually rinse them off after each meal and use them several times before machine washing.

We also use the Koala Baby vinyl bibs. They are less expensive than the JJ cole. They have velcro and the vinyl is not as durable.

I bought a pack of vinyl bibs at BJs, it was 5 bibs for $10. You can't beat the price on those! But you get what you pay for, the velcro sucks. They work well enough for our back-up bibs.

  • Bumkins Bibs are my FAVORITE!! They are easy to clean & dry quickly. Plus they make them in varying sizes, including some sleeves! :)

They are pricey, but SO worth it!

  • We don't seem to have the bib issue that so many others have, so the cheap terrycloth ones work for us.  But I have seen bibs at Walmart that seem really nice.  They're really big, and they have a pocket at the bottom that unsnaps for washing.  I think they snap around the neck too.  And they're fabric, but it's some kind of coated fabric that wipes off easily, but is still machine washable.  I think they're the same kind that J+K use for their kids?  IDK, I heard someone say that, it might mean more to you than me.

We have 2 of these w/out the sleeve and they are great. They clean up good and dry fast. I got them at BRU.

  • Thanks ladies!  I'll definitely check out BRU.  I hadn't seen a good selection at Target/WM, but hadn't checked BRU.  Those Bumkins bibs are adorable (and functional!!)
  • I got a set of nylon ones (they are jumbo) at BJ's for about $8.They were in the aisle with the diapers. We use those when she eats and they are perfect. Can just wipe them clean and they are ready for the next feeding!
