beach themed shower gift, help please!

one of my good friends shower is in a couple weeks. i asked her if it was ok if i went off registry, and she said she knows her immediate family is getting her all her "essentials" so she would love some creative gifts.

she lives near the beach and is doing a beach themed nursery so i thought it would be fun to do a beach baby themed gift. her baby will be about 5 months old once beach season rolls around. 

anything you find super useful or fun for baby at the beach would be a huge help, tia!

    Swim diapers, baby swimsuit/swimtrunks, sunglasses, etc.

    she isn't finding out the sex, so can't do swimsuits. but the diapers and sunglasses are a great idea!

    swim diapers, baby sunscreen, a big beach blanket....depending on your budget maybe a nice beach umbrella/sun shade.

    Claire's nursery is beach-ish themed and we don't live to far from the beach.  My bff got a really inexpensive flat wood framed mirror and used hot glue to glue white shells all around the frame.  She added a few brownish and pinkish hued ones also.  It looks fabulous and Claire loves looking at herself in it.  For shower gifts from me, I've bought a large sand bucket and filled it with beach things for the baby to use when they come to visit me.  A bathing suit, swimmy diapers, sunscreen, shovel, beach themed board book, etc.  If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.

    My DS was 3-6 months during beach season.  We bought him a tent like this:

    We only used it once when we went to the beach - it was a nice tent, and I was able to BF in it with him.  However, he didn't really like being in it, and wouldn't nap in it - he is a very curious little guy and didn't like not being able to see what was going on.  So the next few times we went to the beach, we just brought his bumbo chair and a regular beach umbrella, and he would have stayed sitting on the beach like that for hours.  Anyways, you could try a tent - I think it was nice, just my DS didn't like it.

    I got this for a shower gift.  We will use it on the beach and probably even in the back yard when I am doing yard work or just laying by the pool.  My parents also have a boat so I wil be setting it up in the middle of it to.
