Babies: 0 - 3 Months

What is your 6 wk old's nap/sleep schedule?

I still have what seems an incredibly sleepy baby. She wakes around 7-8am, I feed her and she's up for about an hour before she takes an hour+ nap. It then seems like she sleeps off and on for the rest of the day until around 5pm when she becomes more alert for a few hours. I would think she has her days/nights confused except that she sleeps at night too. We put her down at 8-9pm and she's asleep until 2-3am, and then after feeding back down until about 6am. Anyone else have a very sleepy daytime baby at this age?

  • Maybe she is going through a growth spurt. My 5 week old seems to have the same schedule.

  • This is almost our exact schedule, but most of DS's naps are almost 2 hrs during the day.  At night he goes down anywhere from 8-10 PM, and then up at 2 (if I'm lucky) and then 4 and 6 AM.

  • That sounds like DS's schedule, too. I figure he's not even 2 months yet, so it could be a while before he's awake more.

  • My baby has done the same thing except she doesn't wake up in the middle of the night... I kid around saying she has Epstine Bar.
  • That is exactly our schedule too.  Sounds like it is pretty normal

  • Yep, sounds like our schedule too. ?I used to try to keep her up more during the day, but realized that she still sleeps at night when she's asleep most of the day. ?So, I guess this is normal for now. ?:-)
  • Thanks ladies. Everything I've read said not to worry if they sleep a lot (especially if still sleeping at night and seem normal in all other aspects) but sometimes if she's slept almost the entire day it seems concerning to me. Glad to know there's other sleepy heads out there :)
