I think my baby has a bug :(

No real question or anything, just me pouting.

Everyone in my house is sick, so its not really surprising. My Mom (we stay with my parents because my DH is pyscho about me staying by myself with the baby, thats a whole nother post) has the flu, my Dad and I have a sinus infection, Mom and DH had a stomach bug... and now I don't know if DD just got over-tired, or if she has the stomach bug.

She's NOT got a fever, as I check it constantly, but she's super fussy and gassy. Last night she wanted to nurse CONSTANTLY. I'd let her nurse on one side until she spit it out, then offer the paci. She'd take it, but then when she woke back up, she'd want to nurse again, so I'd over the other breast. I was sidee-lying and nursing, and would try to slide out of bed, and she'd wake right back up. I finally bathed her (I try to bath her every other night, and last night was supposed to be the off night), and when I was lotioning her back she spit up ALL over the changing pad. So, I handed her to my dad while I cleaned that, and he did this swinging move with her that he perfected when I had colic... and then I took her back and layed back down with her, offered the paci, and just snuggled her. She FINALLY went down and stayed down while I got up.

I got to take a shower, which was much needed. I have fibromyalgia, and for some reason I was in a ton of pain yesterday, and showers help so much. Once I got out, I put her in the arm's reach co-sleeper and she actually stayed in there. I went to bed at 12, we got up at 2 to see Daddy off to work and she nursed on both sides, then went back down in the co-sleeper until 6. Then I pulled her in bed with me because her little hands were cold. She nursed on 1 side at 6, the other side at 7 and then nursed on one side when we up at nine.

Now she's laying on my chest asleep, but she keeps waking up and whining, and requires the paci or a butt pat to go back down. The sad thing is, I don't think I can mei tai her today because of the fibro-pain. :(

Thanks for letting me rant.

Re: I think my baby has a bug :(

  • I really hope you all feel better soon and can get some rest in. It sounds like she just may have had a gassy night and the spitting up could have been caused from eating a little to much. When my DD was really gassy the only thing she wanted to do was nurse which usually resulted in spitting up a bit more than usual.
