I am just looking to see what everyone's doctors told them..
My doc said she wanted me to wait at least 2 cycles before TTC'ing again. However, I have been looking online and finding conflicting info. Almost everything suggest that waiting is for dating purposes only, and that not waiting doesn't mean that you are at an increased risk for another miscarriage.
What did your doctor say? Are you planning on following their suggestion? Am I insane for not wanting to wait 2 months?
TIA!
Re: TTC after chemical miscarriage?
I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't have a chemical pregnancy, but my doctor recommended waiting 2 months. I know it seems like forever right now, but it actually went by really fast. I would listen to my doctor, but I also had three different doctors tell me 3 different time frames. My RE said 6 weeks, my OB said 5 months, my Perinatologist said 2 months. We went with the specialist's recommendation. I think every doctor is different.

Single embryo FET 12/2009-BFP! Blake born 8/2010 at 39 weeks after 36 hours of labor and an emergency c section < IVF 2- BPF! Due April 27th Our Story
When I had an early m/c before DS (at about 6 weeks) my OB said to wait one cycle and then TTC again- which we did and got a sticky BFP. This time my beta was so low- it never reallly did anything and then when I got AF it was only a week late and seemed normal so OB didnt give a time frame this time around- it is only CD 4 for me so DH and I are still deciding what to do.
I am so sorry for your loss, and I wish you luck when you decide to TTC again.

My doctor said that we need to wait for one AF after m/c. She said regardless of whether it's natural or a D&C, it takes some time for your body to heal and return to it's cycle. So one AF and we're going for it.
Every case is different though. Maybe your doctor can explain the rationale for 2 months in your case.

My doctor said we could try but recomended waiting until the first period so we would have a better time frame
Also when they confirmed my mc I had a beta of 5 so it depends on that

I'm so sorry for your loss.
I had a chemical pregnancy after my 2nd IUI cycle. I got some faint + hpts and then went in for bloodwork and my beta was so low that there was no way it could be viable. I started spotting the day of my beta then got a heavy period. My RE did some more bloodwork to check my hcg level and since it was under 5 (since 5 and above is considered positive) he gave us to the go ahead to do clomid and another IUI cycle right away. So we did. I got pg with my twins that cycle. He said as long as my level was negative it was ok to try again right away.
We did wait a full 2 months after my first miscarriage, which was a missed m/c at 10w5d. I had to have a d&c after that. They also wanted to do some testing on me, so we had to wait to have that done.
Good luck making your decision. I know how hard it can be.
Thank you for your help ladies. I really do appreciate it.
I had my blood drawn last wednesday (I started miscarrying on Tuesday night about 10 pm) and my betas were at 6, so I had my blood drawn again on Friday. I will find out those results today around noon, but I am fully expecting the number to be under 5.
My dr said that she wanted it to be somewhere between 0-5, and since it is so low already I guess I am just shocked that I still need to wait. I will try and ask her today what the reasoning is.
Honestly, if it is a recovery issue, then I will wait the 2 cycles. If not (and more of a dating issue) then I would prefer to keep trying.
