Babies: 0 - 3 Months

So I will need to POAS....

I'm taking an antibiotic right now and am back on the pill....Totally forgot about the whole antibiotic decreasing the effectiveness of BC. The sad this is....I'm an RN. I guess this is what Mommy Brain does to you..

  • I don't think so. Antibiotics affect how your liver process the pill and the speed at which it metabolizes it.

  • Good luck!!!  As much as I hated being pg and as much work this one is, even though I'd rather wait 2+ years I wouldn't be too devastated.

    I hadn't been on an antibiotic in about ten years, so I was taking amoxicillin.   And my pill was Lo Ovral, if that helps.

    BTW, i've worked in a pharmacy for over 7 years and i always forget to use a backup when I'm on an antibiotic too!
