Babywearing and "spoiling" comments

When you get comments about spoiling your LO because you wear them all the time, do you go on to explain your reasoning for wearing them or just ignore the comment?  I have had so many comments about how DD is going to get used to me wearing her and I will have to wear her all the time, she will get spoiled, etc.  I usually  just say "I don't care" rather than taking the time to explain that I am intentially wearing her all the time because of all of the benefits of babywearing. I think most people just see carriers as a convenience rather than a place for bonding.

  • On the rare occasion I get a spoiling comment, I tell them I have a book they can read if they would like more information on my parenting style.  No one has taken me up on it!
