If you nurse in a Babyhawk...

For those of you that nurse in a Babyhawk (or similar), do you just wear LO a little lower than usual.  DD's butt is usually in line with my belly button and I can kiss the top of her head.  At this level, she is way too high to reach the breast.  Should I wear her a little lower so she is more in-line with the breast?  Does it hurt your back if you wear them lower?

I am just trying to perfect this technique before our vacation so I can nurse on the go.

  • I've never done it for that reason. Once I sat down and untied the top straps to let DS nurse, but that's a pain!

  • Yes, just barely lower.  But then, I'm pretty small chested so I think it makes the whole thing fairly easy for me.  And I tie under his butt as opposed to underneath his butt and then behind me - it's easier to adjust that way.  It is just a bit harder on my back when he is lower and nursing.
  • Yes, just a little lower. I'm small chested too though, so I don't know if it makes a difference (probably). I haven't noticed a difference in how my back feels. Good luck-it's very convenient once you get the hang of it!
