Baby Names

What names do you love....

but don't understand why they're not more popular? Don't get me wrong, I really hate trendy/overly used names and I wouldn't use them for my child but some names are so great imo that I don't get why others don't use them more....

Samantha, Alexandra, Melanie, Ellen, Eliza, Mary

Thomas, Samuel, Frederick (Freddie), Johnathan

    Patrick

I was going to say Patrick as well. I love this name and really wanted it for DS#2. It seemed like most people (IRL and on here) weren't a fan. I couldn't understand why. Huh?

ETA: The reason it wasn't chosen was because my DH agreed with most of those people. He wasn't a big fan either. It was MIL's favorite though, so at least someone was on my side!

  • I LOVE Patrick. DH is totally set on Liam for a boys name, and while I do love it it's just so trendy right now. Maybe by the time we have a DS it will have passed, but I'd love an excuse to use Patrick.

  • I agree Patrick is a great name!!
  • For the pp, I don't like Patrick because I despise Pat! The name itself is fine, but the thought that they could be called Pat makes me not put it on my list.

For me: Susanna, Mallory, Melanie, Helen, Bethany, Juliet, Samantha, Anne, Felicity, Victoria, and Leanne

Boys: Simon, Jeremy, Bradley, Todd, Eric, Keith, Calvin, Wesley, Peter, Bryce, Kevin, George, Garrett, Derek, Trevor, Allen, Isaac and Gregory

  • It took us awhile to name our daughter cause I liked some more tready name(savannah, ava, owen, hunter) and my DH wanted some easy to spell, say, and would last through the ages of the child.  So we ended up with molly.  But on our list was Jackie, maggie, lucy, lucas, theodore.
