I know Clarissa is not everyone's taste (there was another thread on that today!) but we love it and are planning to use it for a girl. But we are totally stumped for middle names. My favorite names list so far is filled with similar sounding names (mostly ending with -a) that would really be a mouthful combined with Clarissa. We've considered Clarissa Rose, which is pretty, but maybe a little plain? Same with Clarissa Anne. Any other ideas??

I think it'd sound good with a one syllable name.
May, Hope, Faith, Joy, Anne, Rose
Thanks for the good suggestions, ladies. I tend to agree that a one syllable name flows well. I'm glad Clarissa Anne is getting some positive feedback. Anne is a family name, so that would be really appropriate, I was just worried it was too plain. But I do think it flows. The last name is very common (2 syllables) so I guess that is making me extra paranoid about being plain. Clarissa May is another interesting idea -- that might grow on me...
Thanks again and definitely still taking suggestions if any others pop up.
ETA: ooh, I'm kind of liking Clarissa Noelle too...

Just kidding... pp have suggested some really great names!
Clarissa Jane
Clarissa Renee
Clarissa Ann
Clarissa Suzanne
I think Clarissa Noelle is my favorite at the moment (I never would have thought of that so thanks for the idea!)...but it won't be a Christmas baby -- do you think it's a problem to use Noelle as a middle name in that case?
I'm trying to think of other names that would have a similar sound since I think that flows nicely....Clarissa Brielle, Clarissa Gabrielle....Hmmm...
I agree.
