Help -- middle name for Clarissa?

I know Clarissa is not everyone's taste (there was another thread on that today!) but we love it and are planning to use it for a girl.   But we are totally stumped for middle names.  My favorite names list so far is filled with similar sounding names (mostly ending with -a) that would really be a mouthful combined with Clarissa.  We've considered Clarissa Rose, which is pretty, but maybe a little plain?  Same with Clarissa Anne.  Any other ideas??

  • My daughter's name is Marissa which has a similar ring and her middle name is Brooke. I think Clarissa Brooke is really nice together, although it may depend somewhat on your last name.

Thanks for the good suggestions, ladies.  I tend to agree that a one syllable name flows well.  I'm glad Clarissa Anne is getting some positive feedback.  Anne is a family name, so that would be really appropriate, I was just worried it was too plain.  But I do think it flows.  The last name is very common (2 syllables) so I guess that is making me extra paranoid about being plain.  Clarissa May is another interesting idea -- that might grow on me...

Thanks again and definitely still taking suggestions if any others pop up.

ETA: ooh, I'm kind of liking Clarissa Noelle too...

  • I think Clarissa Noelle is my favorite at the moment (I never would have thought of that so thanks for the idea!)...but it won't be a Christmas baby -- do you think it's a problem to use Noelle as a middle name in that case?

I'm trying to think of other names that would have a similar sound since I think that flows nicely....Clarissa Brielle, Clarissa Gabrielle....Hmmm...

  • Maybe do a mn that has family meaning.  Like your mn or your mother, grandma's, mil's, ect name or middle name.  That how we came up with DD mn.  Jean is her aunts mn, her great uncles names, and great aunts name, and it just flew with her fn and ln.

  • My bestfriend is named Clarissa middle name Ann. She is gorgeous (voted most beautiful in our class!) Love the name! We call her Riss for short. I like Clarissa Rose too. I don't think it's too plain.
